An EVENING AT CCPC

Friday December 2

Saturday December 3

It's entertainment. It's an excuse to get dressed up. It's comedy. It's singing. It's dancing. It's magic. It's an old time variety show. It's a chance to shine without a huge time commitment. It's fantastic food served on a platter. It's a benefit for Christmas Families. It's an opportunity for adults to get in on some of the fun the kids have had performing.

CHRISTMAS FAMILIES UPDATE

This year we are providing gifts for 134 children and food for 48 families. Thanks to all who have signed up to provide gifts for the children. As of Sunday afternoon there were only seven children who had not been “adopted” and three who need a toy or a bottom.

The most pressing need is for more food shoppers, especially for the small families. Traditionally, the shoppers for small families have donated the groceries. If you would be willing to shop but don’t feel you can donate that much, money will be provided. We have twenty small families consisting of three or four members. Twelve families are remaining to be shopped for. Shoppers are also needed for extra-small families (two persons), medium families and perishable foods. Money is provided for all these shoppers.

Thanks to those who have volunteered for the other Christmas Family activities. We need a lot more gift wrappers.

Schedule: Friday, Dec.16-All food must be at the church by this date.

Sat., Dec. 17 from 9-11- Food sorting in Dodds Hall

Sun., Dec. 18 Gift sorting and wrapping

All gifts must be at the church by noon Dec. 18.

Mon., Dec.19 Distribution of food and gifts from 9-1 and from 6-9.

Marjorie Tanner, Christmas Families Coordinator

CHRISTMAS FAMILIES “WRAPS UP” AT CCPC

These are the dedicated volunteers from CCPC who were here last Saturday to wrap gifts and organize the groceries.  134 children will be provided with three gifts each, and 48 families will receive turkey and all the trimmings and enough food for a week.  Other volunteers helped to deliver the goodies on Monday, and 48 families will be blessed this Christmas by the generosity of CCPC.

"The Mission Committee would like to thank Marge and Chuck Tanner for the countless hours they have devoted to the Christmas Families Program.  Although this program would not be possible without the support of the whole congregation, your hard work and devotion are what makes it run so smoothly.  You have it so well organized that everything runs like clockwork.  We appreciate all that you do."   -Paul Sell
