Youth at CCPC

CCPC offers a variety of activities for our young people, which provide fellowship learning and growth for those 6th to 12th grades. Junior high is for grades 6th - 8 and senior high is for grades 9 - 12.

Education: During the education hour on Sundays, Sunday School is provided for both junior and senior high youth. Various members of the congregation teach classes ranging in topics.

Confirmation is for 8th grade and older and starts in the fall. The pastor, youth director, and various members of the congregation lead the youth in the bi-monthly classes. Confirmation takes place the first week in June. Bible Study meets for those in 8th grade and higher on Wed. afternoons at 4p.

Workcamp: Each June, for the last six years, our senior high students have traveled to South Carolina, Pennyslvania, New Jersey, Iowa, or Michigan to work for a week to renovate housing, usually in affiliation with Habitat for Humanity.

Youth Groups: A weekly meeting where youth come to play, study and have fellowship together. Topics and activities vary

Junior High 5:00p - Sundays
Senior High 6:30p - Sundays

Winter Fun Activities: During the school year, there are a variety of fun activities for youth. The youth host a haunted house at the annual Halloween Party. There is Parents day out and caroling in Dec. as well as year Christmas Parties. They sometimes go skiing in the winter and camping every fall.

Summer Events: Each summer a variety of fun activities are offered for both groups. Some events include Lock in, Beach trips, Hershey Park, progressive dinners and game nights. This is a time for relaxation and growth as a group. The senior highs take a trip each summer to either work camp to work with habitat for humanity or to Montreat, a Presbyterian youth conference. These currently trade off from year to year.

Community Service: The youth do a variety of services with in the church, community and nation. They help with church clean ups, participate in Christmas families, an activity that provides Christmas needs to families, help with Racetrack Road clean up, and go on mission trips to work with habitat.
